Boosting immunity through nutrition
Researchers at the WALTHAM™ Centre for Pet Nutrition have made breakthrough discoveries about how particular nutrients can boost a dog’s immunity to medical and physical problems.
Added protection for puppies and older dogs
Research carried out at WALTHAM™ has shown that puppies have a stronger and healthier immune system if they’re fed additional antioxidants. These also benefit older dogs by helping to protect against age-related illnesses. So our puppy and senior foods now have high levels of antioxidants to provide protection when dogs need it most.
Lowering the risk of kidney problems
Kidney problems are common in older dogs. WALTHAM™ Centre researchers have found that controlling dietary phosphorus levels can reduce the risk of kidney damage. Our senior products are designed with this in mind.
Keeping older dogs bounding along
Older dogs often develop joint health problems - particularly breeds such as Labrador Retrievers and German Shepherds. But after investigating the potential benefits of green-lipped mussels, WALTHAM™ researchers were able to develop Pedigree® Jointcare® treats. Feeding Pedigree® Jointcare® to your dog every day has been shown to bring back their natural bounce within six weeks.
Reducing Dental Health Problems
The work at WALTHAM™ has also led to the development of a number of products designed to help prevent dental health problems in dogs, like Pedigree® Dentastix® and Pedigree® Dentastix® Twice Weekly
Our studies show that daily feeding of Dentastix® reduces the build-up of plaque and tartar.
